1. Flops, Failures, and Fumbles - What Do We Do Now?
Have you already made a mistake at work, just when you wanted to be especially perfect? If so, do you remember it well? Did also you almost lose your head as you contemplated how on earth your mishap could occur?

- using our awareness deliberately, we detect dangers early and react quickly
- we analyse the causes of our mistakes and, thus, avoid them in the future
3. Daily Appliance - Not Only in High-Risk Work Environments
With its origin in aviation, where one could minimise the number of deadly accidents greatly, CRM is used today in the emergency medical service and other medical fields, as well as in maritime shipping, for instance.
You can benefit enormously in many work areas, not only if you, for example, handle hazardous materials, or dangerous machinery regularly:
- chemical industry, electricity, canteen kitchen (hot grease, boiling water), construction, construction areas in dangerous evironments, factory work, f.ex. working with compactors, maintenance of dangerous machines
- maintenance of medical equipment, procedures where mistakes are momentous, f. ex., sterilisation and packaging of sets of surgical instruments, choosing the radiation dose when treating tumours
- maintenance and operation of all machines and technical equipment, which pose a danger, also vehicles
- dangerous sporting activities (amateurs and professionals): f. ex., planning and supervising, assistance, mountaineering, including climbing, rope teams, extreme mountaineering, scuba diving
- use of dangerous machinery in agriculture and forestry, lumber mills
- storage, handling and transportation of hazardous materials
- all non-dangerous professions: here, it is "only" about angry customers, and missed dates, misrouted deliveries, and failed business deals
4. An Exciting Journey Towards Your Making Use of CRM
In eight volumes, we will span the entire crew resource management. We will start with its beginning, and continue with the resources themselves, and successful communication until we will reach its principles one by one. We will elucidate less known items, such as just culture. Step by step, we will approach practical CRM training and how you can apply CRM daily. Along this path, you will encounter:
- many exciting insights into emergency medicine and aviation
- valuable information, in an easily comprehensible and logical order
- practical tips, which will show you how to apply immediately what you´ve just read
- when you will have reached your goal, you and your team will perform even better
Finally, we will turn our attention to air accidents and incidents in prehospital emergency medicine to unveal how they have been analysed and what all of us can learn from this.
5. The Book Title and the Right Version for You
5.1. The Book Title
You will be able to obtain all of the versions mentioned below in German and English.
5.2. The Volumes
Presumably, the volumes will hold 120-150 pages each in the main section, and come in a clearly laid-out letter format. I plan to split up the CRM topics as follows:
- Volume 1: the history of CRM, teams and their resources, communication
- Volume 2-4: all CRM principles with numerous examples
- Volume 5: all about successful CRM training in aviation and in medicine
- Volume 6: how to transfer CRM into our daily work routine
- Volume 7: air accidents: what we learn from the painstaking analysis in the light of CRM
- Volume 8: critical incident reporting systems, CIRS, in medicine: what we learn from real, anonymised cases for our use of CRM
5.3. Accompanying Workbooks
In these workbooks, you will mainly find exercises, instructions, checklists, and templates for SOPs to facilitate the implementation of the CRM concepts at your workplace. Of course, these are meant as an aid and are certainly not a must.
5.4. EBooks and Printed Versions
You will be able to buy all versions as ebooks and in print (paperback, print-on-demand). The electronic versions will be published in a fixed layout due to the figures and didactic tools.

Presumably, you may expect the following prices, which might still be altered depending on the number of figures, as well as probable changes in printing costs:

All prices include VAT. For print-on-demand books shipping costs will be added.
These are the official prices, which I will set on all platforms, as well. They pertain to the respective German and English versions. If you buy from my website, I will grant you attractive discounts between 5 and 10%, depending on your minimum order value.

Print-on-Demand
Print-on-Demand has the advantage that only those books will be produced that have really been purchased. In traditional publishing, it unfortunately happens that unsold copies are eventually destroyed.
For the print-on-demand books, which you order on my website, I will use BookVault. It usually delivers the ordered books to you within seven days.
7. You Will Soon Be Able to Preorder Your CRM Book
I am happy to accept advance orders, but only when I will have sent the first volumes to the proofreader (presumably in autumn 2024). I will keep you updated.
